Digi ConnectCore 95 Development Kit - Unboxing | DigiKey
We take a look at the ConnectCore 95 Development Kit from Digi. Based on an NXP i.MX 95 processor with an integrated NPU, the ConnectCore 95 wireless system-on-module provides longevity and scalability in industrial IoT applications.
Inside the box, you’ll find the ConnectCore 95 Development Kit, a heat sink with screws and thermal pad, a power supply, a USB-C cable, and an antenna. In this demo we’re going to connect the development kit to Digi Remote Manager, or DRM, so we can view and manage it from the cloud. Install the heatsink, plug the USB cable into the USB-C console port, connect the antenna, and plug in the power supply. We’re also connecting an ethernet cable, but you can setup Wi-Fi instead. Follow the procedure to install the Yocto Linux image on the board. This can be done using UUU, a micro SD card, or a thumb drive. With UUU you will need a second USB cable connected to the USB 3 port. You’ll also need to use the Digi ConnectCore Quick Setup app on a smartphone to provision the kit to your cloud services account. Since the label with the code is covered by the heatsink, you can use sysinfo in the terminal to get a scannable QR code. You may need to change your terminal font for this to display properly. Once the setup is complete, you can login to your Digi Remote Manager account and connect to the development kit. The device dashboard allows you to monitor device health and interface status; historical data shows recent temperature reading, CPU usage, and memory usage; Network allows you to change ethernet and Wi-Fi settings; Management allows you to reboot and apply firmware updates; and you can also view data usage.
