These USB Type-C PD 3.1 devices support EPR up to 28 V with automatic source/sink role switching for high-power portable applications. The AP53781 and AP53782 from Diodes, Inc. are highly integrated USB Type-C PD 3.1 Dual-Role Power (DRP) controllers supporting Extended Power Range (EPR) up to 28 V and 140 W, as well as Standard Power Range (SPR/PPS) up to 21 V. Both operate from 3.6 V to 31 V and include built-in OVP, OCP, UVP, and moisture detection. The AP53781 uses a preloaded PDO/RDO menu for standalone operation with no external MCU. The AP53782 adds an I²C interface for MCU-configurable power profiles and QC 2.0/3.0 support. Available in compact 3 × 3 mm (W-QFN3030-16) and 4 × 4 mm (W-QFN4040-24) SMD packages with −40 to +85 °C operation, both are RoHS3 and MSL 1 compliant.
