DigiKey will participate as a platinum sponsor in The Electric Expo 2026 in Tokyo on Nov. 3, 2026.
DigiKey, the global distribution leader of electronic components and automation products, will participate as a platinum sponsor in The Electric Expo 2026, hosted by CQ Publishing Co., Ltd., on Nov. 3, 2026, at Bellesalle Akihabara in Tokyo. Beyond showcasing the latest electronic components and technologies, DigiKey aims to help engineers, students and makers turn hands-on discoveries into their next designs and prototypes.
The Electric Expo 2026 brings together advanced technologies in wireless communications, positioning, power electronics and AI, and is jointly organized by three CQ Publishing magazines: Transistor Gijutsu, Interface and CQ Ham Radio. From ideation and component selection to prototyping and development, DigiKey will support makers and engineers and share the excitement of learning about technology and the satisfaction of building something through demonstrations, exhibits and presentations.
Turning technology and ideas into working creations
At the DigiKey booth, Satoshi Ishii of Analog Devices (ADI) will present a live measurement demonstration comparing LTspice circuit simulations with measurements from actual circuits. DigiKey will also feature the KARURA Project, an international student team developing a Mars exploration rover, as well as award-winning projects from the DigiKey Make ONE Challenge 2026, including the miniature game console “Issen Boy!” and “DENKO.” These exhibits offer a close-up look at how technical ideas become tangible creations. The booth will also showcase the latest electronic components and development products from suppliers, with special giveaways available for visitors.
From learning about technology to taking on the challenge
In the Junior Support Pavilion, electronics YouTuber Ichiken will give a special DigiKey presentation drawing on his experience developing a domestically produced charger, highlighting the challenges of selecting components. In the Hands-on Technology Pavilion, Sumio Morioka will lead a workshop offering hands-on experience with the popular “Build Your Own CPU [Construction Edition]” series on the DigiKey Japan YouTube channel. Separate advance registration is required for the workshops in addition to event visitor registration. As a platinum sponsor, DigiKey supports opportunities for learning and interaction throughout the venue and helps inspire the next generation to take its first steps into making.
“Turning great ideas into reality requires more than access to components and technology,” said Brooks Vigen, senior director of global strategic marketing for DigiKey. “Opportunities to experiment, learn and connect with others are equally important. We want to support an environment where engineers and the next generation of developers can take on new challenges in making. We look forward to the discoveries and connections that will emerge at The Electric Expo 2026.”
